A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 3 min to set up · 15 min to build · 2 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A "river": a puddle, a chalk line or a gap between two logs
  • Sticks, flat stones and bark
  • A small toy to test it

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Look at the gap. How wide is it?

  2. Find sticks long enough to reach across.

  3. Lay them side by side to make the bridge.

  4. Add stones at each end to hold it steady.

  5. Test it with the toy. Did it make it across?

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
