A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to gather · 10 min to make · 5 min to tidy. Then watch over the week. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A wide, shallow dish, like a plant saucer or old bin lid
  • A few pebbles
  • Water

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Little one leads

Your child places pebbles in the dish, so birds have somewhere to stand.

  2. Choose an open spot you can see from a window, away from bushes where cats hide.

  3. Fill with a little water.

  4. Watch from inside. Who comes to drink or splash?

  5. Top it up and give it a rinse every few days.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
