A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 3 min to prepare · 10 min to plant · 2 min to tidy. Then water and measure. Plus waiting time: a summer. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • Sunflower seeds
  • Small pots of compost
  • A sunny spot and a watering can

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Push a seed into each pot, about a finger joint deep.

  2. Water and label each pot with a name.

  3. Keep on a sunny windowsill until shoots appear.

  4. Plant out in a sunny spot when they're a hand tall.

  5. Together

Measure them against each other every week. Who's winning?

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
