- Cress or grass seeds
- A stick for drawing

Smooth the compost flat.
Draw your child's first letter in it with a stick.

Your child sprinkles seeds carefully along the line.
Water gently and pop on a windowsill.
Check each day. In a week, your letter will be growing!
