A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to prepare · 20 min to dye (adult at the hob) · 5 min to reveal. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • White eggs
  • A big handful of brown onion skins
  • Small leaves and flowers, like clover or parsley
  • Old tights cut into squares, and elastic bands
  • A splash of vinegar

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Little one leads

Your child chooses tiny leaves and presses them onto a damp egg.

  2. Wrap the egg in a tights square to hold the leaves tight, and an adult secures it with a band.

  3. Grown-up job

An adult simmers the eggs in onion skin water with vinegar for about 20 minutes.

  4. Together

    Once completely cool, unwrap together.

  5. Peel off the leaves to reveal the pattern!

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
