A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to prepare · 17 min to weave · 3 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A rectangle of sturdy cardboard
  • Six to ten elastic bands, or string
  • Grasses, long-stemmed leaves, feathers and flowers

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Grown-up job

An adult cuts small slits along two opposite edges and stretches elastic bands across.

  2. Go on a little hunt for bendy, long things.

  3. Little one leads

Your child weaves each one over and under the bands.

  4. Keep adding until it's full and colourful.

  5. Prop it up on a windowsill to enjoy.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
