A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 2 min to find moss · 12 min to explore · 1 min to head off. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A magnifying glass
  • A patch of moss on a wall, log or tree

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Stroke the moss gently with one finger. Is it soft? Springy? Wet?

  2. Look through the magnifying glass. It looks like tiny trees!

  3. Look for tiny creatures living in it.

  4. Imagine you're a minibeast walking through it. Where would you go?

  5. Leave it just as you found it.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
