A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 2 min to prepare · 10 min to walk · 3 min to plant. Then water and wait. Plus waiting time: a few weeks. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • Old, fluffy socks to wear over shoes
  • A patch of long grass or a meadow edge
  • A tray of compost

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Pull the socks on over your shoes.

  2. Walk through long grass and wildflower edges.

  3. Look at your socks. What's stuck to them?

  4. At home, lay the socks on compost and water them.

  5. Keep them damp on a windowsill. What sprouts?

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
