A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to prepare · 15 min to explore · 5 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A small pumpkin, top cut off by an adult
  • Big spoons and a bowl
  • An old towel or tray

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Look inside. What can you see? What does it smell like?

  2. Little one leads

Your child scoops out the stringy middle with a spoon or hands.

  3. Squish the strings. Find the seeds.

  4. Count the seeds into a bowl, or sort big from small.

  5. Draw a face on the outside with a washable pen.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
