A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to gather · 8 min to fill · 2 min to hang. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A wire suet cage, a mesh bag or a small basket
  • Natural materials: dry grass, moss, small twigs, untreated wool scraps
  • String

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Talk about what birds need for a cosy nest.

  2. Little one leads

Your child stuffs the cage with dry grass and moss.

  3. Add a few small twigs and soft natural wool.

  4. Hang it on a branch you can see from the window.

  5. Watch for birds pulling bits out!

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
