A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 2 min to set up · 7 min to explore · 1 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A garden hose with a mist or spray setting, or a spray bottle
  • A sunny day, with the sun low in the sky (morning or late afternoon)

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Stand with your back to the sun.

  2. Grown-up job

An adult sprays a fine mist of water in front of you.

  3. Look into the mist. Can you see the rainbow colours?

  4. Name the colours you can see.

  5. Move around. Does the rainbow move too?

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
