A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to prepare · 15 min to build · 5 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A quiet, sheltered corner of the garden
  • Fallen leaves, sticks and a log or two
  • Optional: an upturned wooden or plastic crate with a doorway already cut

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Choose a quiet corner, out of the wind.

  2. Grown-up job

An adult places the crate, or makes a little arch with logs.

  3. Little one leads

Your child leans sticks over the top in a tepee shape.

  4. Pile leaves on top and push them into the gaps.

  5. Leave a gap at the front for a door, then leave it be.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
