A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to fill today · 10 min to unwrap and play tomorrow. Plus waiting time: overnight. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A few balloons
  • Water and a few drops of food colouring
  • A freezer, or a very frosty night outside

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Grown-up job

An adult adds a drop of colour to each balloon and fills it with water.

  2. Tie and freeze overnight.

  3. Together

Next day, peel off the balloon together.

  4. Look inside. Can you see bubbles and cracks?

  5. Line them up in the garden and watch the sun shine through.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
