A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to set up · 8 min to explore · 2 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A handful of short twigs
  • A small surprise to find at the end, like a teddy, a snack or a pine cone

Let's begin

Four simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Show your child how to make an arrow with three twigs.

  2. Grown-up job

An adult lays a short trail of twig arrows across the garden or park, with the surprise at the end.

  3. Little one leads

Your child follows the arrows to find it.

  4. Swap! Now they make a trail for you.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
