Explorer binoculars
Every explorer needs binoculars. Make a pair from cardboard tubes, then head out spotting.

A tiny plan for your day
Estimated time: 3 min to prepare · 7 min to make · 10 min to explore. It's fine to stop early.
Before you start
What you’ll need
- Two toilet roll tubes
- Sticky tape
- Washable pens or stickers
- Wool for a strap, optional
Let's begin
Five simple steps
That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.
- Little one leads
Your child decorates the tubes.
- Grown-up job
An adult tapes them together side by side.
Add a short wool strap if you like.
Go exploring. What can you spot? A bird? A red leaf? A cloud?
- Together
Take turns describing something for the other to find.
That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
