Twig towers
How high can you go? Stack twigs, criss-cross style, into a wobbly little tower.
*Illustrative age guidance. Your child's development and circumstances matter more than a number.

A tiny plan for your day
Estimated time: 3 min to collect · 6 min to build · 1 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.
Before you start
What you’ll need
- A handful of straight twigs, roughly finger length
Let's begin
Five simple steps
That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.
Sort the twigs from longest to shortest.
Lay two long twigs side by side on the ground.
Lay two more across the top, like a noughts and crosses grid.
Keep stacking pairs, getting shorter as you go up.
Count how many layers before it wobbles.
That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
