A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 3 min to wrap up · 10 min to explore · 2 min to head in. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A torch each, or one to share
  • Warm coats

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Head into the garden or a familiar path just after dark.

  2. Shine the torch on a tree, a leaf, a wall. What looks different?

  3. Turn the torch off for a moment. What can you hear?

  4. Look for eyes shining back, spider webs or snails out for the night.

  5. Head home for a warm drink.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
