A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to fill · 9 min to play · 1 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • Four or five small pots or tubs with lids
  • Nature fillings: gravel, sand, dry leaves, acorns, twigs
  • Tape for the lids

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Grown-up job

An adult secretly fills each pot with something different.

  2. Tape the lids on firmly.

  3. Little one leads

Your child shakes each pot and listens.

  4. Guess what's inside. Crunchy leaves? Rattly stones?

  5. Open them up to check.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
