Rope trail
Hold the rope and follow where it goes. A slow, sensory trail with eyes closed and a grown-up close by.
*Illustrative age guidance. Your child's development and circumstances matter more than a number.

A tiny plan for your day
Estimated time: 5 min to set up · 9 min to explore · 1 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.
Before you start
What you’ll need
- A long rope or string
- Trees, posts or chairs to tie it around
Let's begin
Five simple steps
That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.
- Grown-up job
An adult ties the rope at waist height, winding it around a few trees.
- Little one leads
Your child holds the rope with one hand.
Close eyes (or keep them open) and walk slowly along it.
Feel for bark, leaves, the ground changing underfoot.
Open your eyes at the end. Where are you?
That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
