A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 2 min to explain the rule · 12 min to spot · 1 min to head off. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A phone camera, optional
  • A walk through damp woods, grass or a park

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Agree the golden rule first: we look, we don't touch.

  2. Look on logs, tree stumps, grass and leaf piles.

  3. Count how many you find. Which is biggest? Smallest?

  4. Describe the colours and shapes. Like a plate? A button? A fairy umbrella?

  5. Take a photo to draw at home.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
