A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 3 min to wrap up · 10 min to explore · 2 min to warm up. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • Frozen puddles or a frozen tray left out overnight
  • Waterproof gloves

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Find a frozen puddle.

  2. Tap the edge gently. Is it thick or thin?

  3. Grown-up job

An adult lifts a thin sheet of ice.

  4. Hold it up to the sky. What can you see through it?

  5. Look for patterns, bubbles and leaves frozen inside.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
