Frozen nature treasures
What's hiding in the ice? Freeze little bits of nature, then free them the next day.
*Illustrative age guidance. Your child's development and circumstances matter more than a number.

A tiny plan for your day
Estimated time: 5 min to set up today · 10 min to explore tomorrow. Plus waiting time: overnight. It's fine to stop early.
Before you start
What you’ll need
- A plastic tub or small cake tin
- Water
- Big leaves, petals and flowers
- Tomorrow: a tray, warm water, a spoon or a squeezy bottle
Let's begin
Five simple steps
That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.
- Little one leads
Your child places leaves and petals in the tub.
Fill with water and freeze overnight.
Next day, pop the ice block out onto a tray.
Free the treasures with warm water, a spoon or warm hands.
What did you rescue first?
That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
