A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to find woodlice · 12 min to watch · 3 min to return them. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A shallow tray or plate
  • A piece of damp kitchen roll and a piece of dry kitchen roll
  • A few woodlice, found under stones or logs

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Lay damp kitchen roll on one side of the tray, dry on the other.

  2. Gently pop the woodlice in the middle.

  3. Wait five minutes. Where did they go?

  4. Count them on each side.

  5. Pop them back exactly where you found them.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
