A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 3 min to prepare · 6 min to watch · 1 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A clear jar or glass of water
  • Shaving foam (adult handles)
  • Blue food colouring and a pipette or teaspoon

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Grown-up job

An adult squirts a fluffy layer of shaving foam on top of the water. That's your cloud!

  2. Little one leads

Your child drips blue colouring onto the cloud, drop by drop.

  3. Watch closely.

  4. When the cloud gets too full, it "rains" blue streaks into the water.

  5. Look out of the window. Are the real clouds raining too?

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
