A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 2 min to prepare · 12 min to pop · 1 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A handful of fresh pea pods, from the garden or the shop
  • Two bowls

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Show your child how to press the seam of the pod with a thumb.

  2. Pop! It splits open.

  3. Run a thumb along to push the peas into the bowl.

  4. Count the peas in each pod. Which had the most?

  5. Taste a fresh, raw pea, washed first.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
