A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to set up · 13 min to watch · 2 min to tidy. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • An old white sheet
  • A washing line or fence to hang it from
  • A bright torch

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Just after dusk on a warm, still evening, hang the sheet up.

  2. Shine the torch onto the sheet.

  3. Wait quietly. Look for moths landing.

  4. Look closely. What colours and patterns do they have? Fluffy? Stripy?

  5. Turn the torch off and let them fly away.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
