A tiny plan for your day

Estimated time: 5 min to prepare · 12 min to wassail · 3 min to head in. It's fine to stop early.

Before you start

What you’ll need

  • A fruit tree, or any favourite tree
  • A slice of toast or a few apple pieces
  • Pots and spoons for making noise

Let's begin

Five simple steps

That's the whole activity. Tick each step off as you go, and stop whenever you like.

  1. Visit your tree on a January afternoon.

  2. Sing it a song. Any song works, or make one up: "Apple tree, apple tree, grow apples for me!"

  3. Bang pots and spoons to wake it up from winter.

  4. Hang the toast or apple pieces on a branch for the birds.

  5. Wish the tree a happy year.

All done!

That's every step. However it went, you made a little moment together.
